Nissan’s ProPilot Assist Comes to America
With its ProPilot Assist feature, Nissan’s new 2018 Leaf is bringing drivers a little bit closer to the dream of a fully-automated car. The technology has already been introduced in Japan and Europe, and is now coming to the U.S.; you can see what the buzz is about at Peruzzi Nissan!
Essentially, the ProPilot Assist uses a combination of radar and sensors to keep your car centered in its lane, and at a (safe) distance from the car ahead of you. You hit a button on the steering wheel, then “thumb” it to adjust range; the system then reads the lines on the road and does the steering to stay in the lane.
This makes it ideal for long, monotonous drives on open road. Nissan’s ProPilot Assist works starting at 20mph and up to 90 mph; you’ll need to take over in stop-and-go traffic.
However, Nissan emphasizes that this exciting feature is by no means hands-free; in fact, you must keep at least one hand on the wheel or you’ll get an “alert.” If you don’t respond after ten seconds, the brakes pulse to get your attention. A few seconds after that, your car starts to slow down, the hazard lights come on and the vehicle eventually comes to a full-stop in its lane. Like the name says, it’s merely an “assist,” so forget any ideas of kicking back and binge-watching Netflix on your phone.
You’ll also need to steer when road conditions are dodgy, like during a rainstorm when markers may not be clear, or if two lanes suddenly become one. Also, if you try to change lanes without using the turn signal, the system will try to bring the car back to its original course. So driver attention is still required.
Like cruise control, Nissan’s ProPilot Assist feature is meant to reduce some of the stress of freeway driving, and to increase safety. The technology behind it won’t replace a smart, alert driver (yet), but it’s the next step towards a totally-automated vehicle. Come check it out at Peruzzi Nissan! When it comes to crossover SUVs, perhaps none are more iconic than Nissan’s flagship SUV model, the Rogue. The Nissan Rogue is one of Nissan’s most popular and stylish vehicle models. The compact SUV has been a smash hit so it’s no surprise that Nissan has released another slightly smaller version in the Rogue Sport.
Last year, Nissan released what was known as the Qashqai in other countries as the Rogue Sport in the United States beginning with the 2017 model year. This compact SUV is about a foot shorter than the standard Rogue but still features 22.9 cubic feet of cargo space and a large backseat that is still comfortable for adults. All 2017 Rogue Sport models come with keyless entry, power doors and locks, and Bluetooth for hands-free calling and streaming audio as standard features. The 2018 model year looks to retain a lot of the same features of the original 2017 Rogue Sport with one important caveat in the area of safety. While automatic emergency braking was an option in last year’s model, it’s expected to be included standard with the new 2018 model.
In addition to these included features, the Rogue Sport also comes in three trim levels that feature their own list of additional standard equipment. The Rogue Sport S includes Advanced Driver Assist Display, a backup camera system, a sports steering wheel, and Siri Eyes Free Technology. The Rogue Sport SV model comes with standard 17” aluminum alloy wheels, six-way power-adjustable front driver’s seat, dual-zone temperature controls, and Nissan’s exclusive intelligent key system with push-button ignition. Lastly, the Rogue Sport SL upgrades the wheels to 19” aluminums and also includes a 7″ NissanConnect Touch Screen Infotainment System with GPS Navigation, Nissan’s AroundView Monitor with Moving Object Detection, and leather-appointed seating surfaces.
Whether you decide on the S, SV, or SL trim levels, you can rest assured you’re getting a great vehicle because every 2017 Rogue Sport is powered by a 2.0L 141-horsepower engine. Additionally, the Rogue Sport is available in both FWD and AWD versions and has available Blind Spot Monitoring, available Lane Departure Warning, and much more!
If you’re looking for a perfectly sized compact SUV with the full line of Nissan’s available features and lots of cargo space, look no further than the 2017 Rogue Sport and the upcoming 2018 Rogue Sport. Come take one for a test drive today at Peruzzi Nissan! If you’re looking for something a little different, Peruzzi Nissan has a huge selection of new, pre-owned, and certified pre-owned vehicles available for purchase or lease. Why Buy a Certified Pre-Owned Nissan?
At Peruzzi Nissan of Fairless Hills, PA, we’ve always been dedicated to giving customers the absolute best deals because, as our motto says, “Our business is YOU!” And among those great deals? A Certified Pre-Owned Nissan.
A CPO Nissan isn’t just another “used car.” We ensure that these cars meet amazingly-high standards before we even think of offering them to our customers.
First, a Certified Pre-Owned Nissan from Peruzzi must be less than six years old starting from its original in-service date, and must have fewer than 80,000 miles.
But that’s just the beginning – we then put the car through a rigorous 150-point inspection check. You’ll know that your CPO Nissan is road-ready, and that you can drive it with confidence.
On top of that, you’ll get a ton of added bonuses, like a 7-year/100,000-mile limited warranty. We include a CARFAX® Vehicle History Report, so you know the full story of your CPO Nissan. And in case you ever need it, Peruzzi Nissan will also provide you with 24-hour Emergency Roadside Assistance, Car Rental Reimbursement, and Towing Benefit.
For those cars that are satellite-equipped, a 3-month trial subscription of SiriusXM Satellite Radio is part of the deal. And if you’re so inclined, you can purchase our optional Security+Plus Extended Protection Plan, which will cover your car for up to 120,000 miles.
A Certified Pre-Owned Nissan is one of the smartest deals on the road. You get a great car, fantastic service and support, and best of all, you save a ton of money. Stop in to Peruzzi Nissan and see what we have to offer!
Is It Better to Buy or Lease a Nissan Vehicle?
Hankering for a new Nissan? The two most common ways to make it happen are buying or leasing. Peruzzi Nissan offers both options, and we can help you make the choice that works best for you.
Leasing is great if you want more car than you could normally buy; down payments are typically less than what’s required for a purchase (although, as with buying, the more money you put down, the lower your monthly payment will be).
Unlike buying a car where you eventually own it, your lease is only a “rental.” A typical contract runs three years; if you like a swanky new ride more frequently, leasing may be the way to go.
However, the tricky part of leasing comes to mileage. You’re limited to a certain number of miles each year (generally 9,000 to 15,000) before you’re slapped with an overage fee – and those costs (sometimes as much as 20 cents per extra mile) can really add up.
Lease contracts also require regular servicing, and that you return the car in its original condition (minus normal wear and tear). So, you always need to be mindful of spills and dings.
If you’re someone who doesn’t need a new vehicle that often, lives somewhere that requires more driving (like a rural area) or if you’re on the road a lot, buying may make more sense. Saving up for a healthy down payment may be tough – and you’ll most likely need to take out a loan – but unlike a lease, the payments you make build equity. You can drive as you need to, and not worry if your kid has spilled their juice box (at least, not any more than you normally would).
The bottom line about your “bottom line”? Both buying or leasing have their own benefits that require careful review; neither option is “one size fits all.” So, stop in to Peruzzi Nissan, and let us help you craft a smart deal that works best for your life!
Nissan Leaf E-Pedal: One Step Does (Almost) All
Driving is something we do every day – and no matter what you drive, we’d all like it to be more of a pleasure and less of a chore. Short of hiring an Uber, that’s where the newest technology from Nissan comes in. The automaker has announced its innovative “E-Pedal,” as currently featured in the Nissan Leaf (and which you can experience at Peruzzi Nissan).
The E-Pedal is a technological breakthrough that gives one pedal multiple functions. It lets you accelerate, slow down – even brake – all with a single pedal.
Yes, we know it may sound kind of weird, but here’s how it works. To accelerate, you press the pedal, just like you normally would. Need to slow down? Simply ease off. And if you need to come to a stop, take your foot off the pedal altogether – the Nissan Leaf will stay securely put, even on hills. Then, with a simple push, you’re on your way again.
The E-Pedal can handle 90% of your driving needs in one step (literally). For those drivers who find themselves constantly switching between the gas pedal and the brake (like city drivers, or anyone dealing with heavy traffic situations), this new technology will make driving a much less stressful event. Plus, the Nissan Leaf E-Pedal will reduce driver fatigue.
Naturally, Nissan considers driver safety paramount, so a standard brake pedal is also included in the Leaf, just in case a heavier “stop” function is needed, especially in emergency situations.
The Nissan Leaf E-Pedal, which is featured in upcoming 2018 models, makes its debut this September. It’s a breakthrough that’s on the cutting-edge of driver-focused systems, and one that heralds a whole new way of interacting with our cars. Get a sneak peek at this amazing new technology by stopping in to Peruzzi Nissan today!
Windshield wipers are one of those little things that you most likely forget about – until they go sideways during a heavy rain or snow storm.
Without proper wiper blades, you’ll be squinting, peering and otherwise faking your way through a weather situation, and that could wind up costing you big time.
Checking (and replacing) your windshield wiper blades isn’t complicated. And, like checking oil or tire pressure, it should be part of your regular maintenance. Considering that new blades aren’t expensive, taking the time to keep an eye on them is quite simple.
Windshield wiper blades are made of rubber. They are NOT indestructible, and you’ll see this if they’ve gone through a lot of rain, snow or mud. Experts recommend giving them a once-over every six to twelve months.
If your wiper blades have taken a beating, then it’s time for new ones. Replacing them is simple.
- The first step? Measuring. Check the length of your wipers, or have a look at your owner’s manual for details on blade size.
- To remove the old wiper blades, lift the arm away from the windshield. Experts recommend placing a soft towel beneath each arm, just in case the wipers accidentally engage; no one wants any “nicks” on the windshield.
- Next, either press the tab or the hook assembly on the wiper’s underside to release the old blade, then slide it off the arm by pulling it downward.
- To attach the new blade, pull it onto the arm. A “clicking” sound lets you know it’s securely fastened. Now, simply lower the arm back towards the windshield.
- Finally, give your brand new wiper blades a test run (and PS – just in case you make a mistake, it’s always better to do this on a day when you DON’T need them…)
A solid set of wiper blades will prove invaluable the next time you encounter an epic rain or snow storm, so don’t overlook this easy safety tip!
If you need help replacing your wiper blades Peruzzi Nissan can help! We can also help with any other type of vehicle maintenance, repair, or service. Let’s face it: parking is among the most annoying things that drivers have to deal with on a daily basis (OK that, along with traffic jams and bad talk radio). Peruzzi Nissan is excited to be on the cutting edge of technology with the new Nissan Leaf, and its new breakthrough push button parking feature.
Here’s how it works: the second-generation Leaf electric car features the ProPilot automatic driving system. This amazing technology allows the car to “self-park” in the parallel position, as well as front-in, angled and straight back-in spots. At the push of a button, the accelerator, braking and steering are taken over by ProPilot, which does the rest. It’s kind of like having your very own parking valet – one with the skillset of a NASCAR expert (and you don’t have to tip them).
A version of the ProPilot has been in use in Japan for several years; this latest upgrade uses sonar and cameras to effortlessly glide the Nissan Leaf into even the trickiest parking space.
This push-button parking feature is just the first wave of Nissan’s “Intelligent Mobility” technology which will ultimately allow the Leaf to drive itself across multiple lanes and to navigate intersections and busy city streets on its own. The target date for this completed tech is 2020. So in just a few years, you’ll be able to relax while your Nissan Leaf gets you to work without breaking a sweat (well, almost – because there is that boss waiting at the other end…)
In the meantime, the brand new Nissan Leaf with its ProPilot automatic parking feature debuts in the United States on Sept. 6, 2017. Find out how you can be among those savvy “early adopters” who enjoy super-simple parking at the touch of a button. Visit Peruzzi Nissan today to learn more.
