Fix Your Vehicle’s Tires

Your car is nothing without its tires. If your vehicle’s tires end up with flats, get pierced, won’t maintain air pressure, or wear out all of their treads, looking into replacements might be a necessity. The tire shop at Peruzzi Nissan’s service center has every tire for sale, all of which are compatible with Nissan vehicles. From cars to trucks to SUVs, we have the most reliable tires for your Nissan, and can even fix issues with your current tires if they are salvageable. The service center at Peruzzi Nissan can handle anything, from your tires to your brakes and everything in between.

Do I Need New Tires?

If you are unsure if it is time for you to get new tires, we recommend using the “penny test” to measure the tread. If you are unfamiliar with this technique, it is a generally accepted way of assessing the quality of your current tires, especially if you feel like it might be time for replacements. All you need to do is place a penny headfirst into your tire’s tread, and evaluate how much of the penny you see. This should be done across multiple grooves. If you can see Lincoln’s entire head when you do this, your vehicle’s tires are worn out and need to be replaced as soon as possible.

Before you come in for your vehicle’s tires, make sure you know your car’s tire sizes. To properly evaluate this, you must know a few specifications, which can be found by reading the series of letters and numbers found on the tire:

  • Tire class: The first letter on the tire will indicate which type of car it is made for. In essence, it tells the difference between car tires and truck tires.
  • Tread width: How far from one side wall to the other the tread of your tire measures out.
  • Aspect ratio: The height of this tread as a percentage of the width.
  • Construction type: Any vehicle’s tires are either built radially or diagonally (bias construction). These are designated by an “R” or a “B.”
  • Diameter: The distance from one end of the tire to the other on your rims. This aspect is the one to pay attention to the most, as certain cars need tires with a specific rim diameter.
  • Load index: Measures how much of a load from the car the specific tires are capable of carrying
  • Speed rating: A letter, L-Y, indicating the maximum speed that the tires can handle. L is the slowest indicating 75 mph, while Y is the fastest indicating 186 mph.
