The Intelligent Key uses a signal that allows you to easily open the door, unlock the trunk – even start the engine – just by having it near you. You don't need to be holding the Key; as long as it's within three feet, the signal will work. This same principle will open and close the trunk, even start the engine. You never have to worry about accidentally locking the key inside: it detects the status of the door or trunk, and where the key is.
