Once you learn their location in the engine bay, they are easy to check and refill if necessary. Check your belts for wear and tear and replace when needed. If one of them breaks you will break down, and this can result in significant engine damage. You need to check your tires for wear, too. Once again, your manual will tell you how often to do this and sometimes how.
