Nissan has been named one of the fastest growing automotive brands in 2015, according to Interbrand, through their Best Global Brands study. The Best Global Brands study reports on the world’s most valuable brands by assessing the investment and management of the brand, financial performance, and the strength of the brand in a customer’s decision.

Nissan first made the top 100 brands in the Best Global Brands study in 2011, coming in at number 90. The next year, Nissan had risen to number 73, number 65 in 2013 and number 56 in 2014. This year, they came in at number 49. “Nissan’s rapid ascent in five short years from place 90 to now 49 shows we’re playing in the right spaces and engaging with customers while always remaining authentic,” Nissan corporate vice president and global head of Marketing and Brand Strategy, Roel de Vries, said.

Nissan’s brand in 2014 had an estimated value of $7.6 billion, and this year increased by 19 percent to an estimated $9.082 billion. The study mentioned a few reasons why Nissan’s brand was doing so well. In addition to consistently providing a quality product, one reason was Nissan’s engagement with millennials, including through the UEFA Champions League activation and NBC’s “he Voice.”

Another was through customization of products, like the new U.S. JUKE Color Studio. The U.S. JUKE Color Studio allows customers to mix and match color combinations for different parts of the vehicle, like front and rear bumper accents, headlight trim rings, side mirror caps, door handle covers, rear roof spoilers, and floor mats.
