The Intelligent Key uses a signal that allows you to easily open the door, unlock the trunk – even start the engine – just by having it near you. Nissan’s Intelligent Key is composed of a signal transmitted between the car and the key, and a tuner in the vehicle that receives it. You don’t need to be holding the Key; as long as it’s within three feet, the signal will work.
For example, if you want to unlock the car, simply press a button on the door: the signal goes from the key to your car and the door unlocks. This same principle will open and close the trunk, even start the engine.
You never have to worry about accidentally locking the key inside: it detects the status of the door or trunk, and where the key is. If you’re about to lock it inside, Intelligent Key will buzz and then unlock the vehicle before you ruin your day.
Nissan’s Intelligent Key is designed around a recognition code unique to each vehicle. This prevents unregistered keys, etc. from access to your car.
